He argued The goose is probably laying eggs in other towns, We could get much more if we would capture her manager her production. So the council gave him a license, the banker advanced the capital, and the chamber of commerce advertised the event.
The clever business man hired experts to build his trap. It was a good one and when the goose came she soon discoved that she could not leave; She laid the 4 eggs, then a fifth and a sixth one. With the eight egg she stopped. Everyday she tried to get away. She no longer looked sleek and trim. Experts in goose-ology were called. She wanted to follow the sun the town was told. So they blanket out all of the windows and with out the call of the sun she was quieter, But she ate even more poorly. New experts were called. New things were tried - the fanciest of diet and the softest of beds. But no more eggs were laid and the goose got even weaker. At last an expert was brought from around the world. When he arrived the goose was dead. After examing the limp form he announced that the goose was the rare Branta aunooviperous unlike other birds which use ordinary gravel, this goose must regularely fly to the far-far north where she finds sold gold nuggets. With their gizzard stones, she can live forever, with out them she dies. This the expert said was why she could not live in captivity.
But now what can we do? cried the townpeople. I am sorry said the last expert It is only in a fair tale that people get a second chance.
